OUR VISION

The mission of the Stanislaus County Caregiver Resource Fair is to provide a “one stop shop” means of support and empowerment to benefit the health and well-being of all caregivers in Stanislaus County.

The purpose of the fair is to provide relevant and useful resources and support (resource tables, free continental breakfast, free health-checks and screenings, seminars, opportunity prizes, stress and anxiety reducing activities and education) to not only attempt to reduce the overwhelming stresses and pressures that accompany being a caregiver but to also provide the opportunity for leaders in the caregiving community to network and build relationships.

The fair is tailored to caregivers but seniors and other people out in the community may find support at the fair as well. This event also provides a place where organizations that offer services for older adults can network together and make themselves more known in the community.

This event offers the opportunity for caregivers to talk and discuss resource availability directly with leaders and social workers in the caregiving community and to attend free seminars with social workers, which research shows is one of the most effective forms of stress relief for caregivers (3).

Resource Fair objectives:

1

2

3

To fill the gap in the caregiving community as it pertains to service delivery for caregivers

To provide stress reducing and self-care information to caregivers

To Increase networking opportunities for both caregivers and service providers.
